Japanese Wooden Bucket Sushioke, Hangiri, Handai

This is a Japanese vintage wooden sushi bucket. It is called Sushioke, Hangiri, or Handai. Sushioke is a bucket used to serve sushi. This is usually made of wood and is surrounded by two thin metal plates or wires called Taga, that are held firmly in place.

• Approx. 38.5 cm wide x 10 cm tall x 8 cm deep 
• Good condition considering its age. There are a few gaps between the panels. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
• We acquired this item from an old family estate sale in Gifu, Japan
