Hawker Fury Mk. I "K5674" was built as c/n 41H-67550 and delivered to 2 ASU (Armament Support Unit) Cardington on November 20, 1935. On June 2, 1936 K5674 was delivered to 43 Squadron at Tangmere and became the personal aircraft of F/O F. Rosier from December 9, 1936 until February 22, 1939. It became the property of the South Africa AF in late 1940 as serial 215. In 1941 it was written off, discovered in a farm field in 2003, restored and flies once again.

Designed to meet a 1927 Air Ministry requirement for an interceptor fighter, the Fury was first flown on March 25th, 1931.
