Special Limited edition boxed set, (limited to 750 copies); This is No. 691. It was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the publication of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. This commemorative box contains facsimiles of the three stages in the publication of this title: the picture letter Beatrix Potter first wrote to Noel Moore in 1893, her own privately-printed volume of 1901 (the first printing), and the original deluxe edition published by Frederick Warne in 1902 (gold binding). A small stapled pamphlet on the history of publication is included, as is a gilt embossed tissue guard to protect the limited edition plate on the interior of the box. The box is dark blue cloth with a brass latch and has a gilt title to spine. A beautiful edition for the collector
