SCARCE EARLY to MID 20TH CENTURY CHINESE ERHU ANTIQUE HEXAGONAL SHAPED, HAND CARVED, ROSEWOOD BODY, VARIEGATED SERPENT SKIN COVER & PAIR of SECONDARY BLONDE HARDWOOD TUNING KNOBS, TWO STRING FIDDLE, featuring JIG-CUT, RETICULATED, BLONDE HARDWOOD END CAP, with
ORIGINABOW
[This early to mid-20th century Chinese antique Erhu rosewood with serpent skin cover 2-string fiddle, is in estate fresh condition. We haven't touched it, including even dusting it off in the hopes of conveying that this is an older Chinese Erhu fiddle and not a much more recent one. It hasn't therefore been restrung or professionally tuned up. The bow was found with the fiddle in a home in the Worcester, MA area, along with several other Chinese and Asian antiques. It is being offered as it was found. The serpent skin cover is intact as well as the hexagonal, hand carved rosewood body & is without any noticeable abrasions, scuffs, edge flea-bites or loss. A beautiful, particularly Chinese string instrument with an immediately recognizable sound. Not of the Western world but from another one, a Far Eastern one, whose culture and music is enriched by literally thousands of years of tradition and collective experience. Very handsome.]
