Large, slightly egg-shaped chawan teabowl with rather straight sides and angled hip with engraved line all around the ship, sitting on on a low foot. Fine stoneware of cream color with brown patches from firing. Grayish-white opaque glaze with very fine over a blue underglaze design of chrysanthemum sprigs. The glaze runs over the hip, but leaves the foot free.
