Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box for First Aid Kit

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc. 

This well-loved vintage first aid kit storage box had three compartments inside and a bracket on the inside of the lid for scissors, tweezers, and other tools. It has simple metal hardware. This was likely used in a school and repurposed later. It can also be used for general storage of trinkets or use for display or other crafts/projects.

• Good condition considering age. Scratches and discolorations. The finish is a bit worn. Red ink stains inside and out. The hardware is slightly rusted. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
