This 1958 Most Wonderful Story is from Ideal Toys.  Item is dated on bottom spine of book. (See picture, where the burgundy book is standing - on the bottom, in gold).  When you open the large burgundy book, it featured pop-ups of Mary, Joseph and animals in a manger/scene.  However, after 65 years, the elastic has lost it's elasticity so figures have to be propped up (I used painter's tape that does not stick to item and therefore, leaves no residue - I will remove the blue painter's tape prior to shipping). Also, when the book is opened, a lovely Baby Jesus Doll (or "Christ Child") is displayed, still in plastic (not sealed), hay that is still sealed, and importantly, his original, removable blanket, that is actually just a white piece of plastic.  There were many that were thrown out because people didn't necessarily know that it was meant as a blanket.

Approximate measurements are 16 1/2" (from top of the burgundy book to the bottom) by 13" (across - from side to side) by 4" deep.

Overall, the book is in fairly good vintage condition, keeping in mind that with this item, besides the elastic, the burgundy book and the gold pages are the first to show wear on the vast majority of these that were sold in 1958.  If more pictures are needed, please feel free to ask.

This is a beautiful set.  Although it is not without some wear and flaws, it is in good vintage condition.
