Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Table Wood Maejyoku BA32

Description

Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Table

Coated with black and radiant gold lacquer, this small, lightweight antique Japanese Buddhist offering table is an important main feature in any home altar. It features charming scalloped corners and gold metal embellishments. The removable top panel is black lacquer on the bottom side and a unique reflective orange and brown lacquer on the other.

There are two types of offering tables in this style: Maejyoku and Uwajyoku.
Uwajoku is placed in front of Amidanyorai and is used for a flower vase, a rice cup, and a kasha incense burner.
Maejoku is placed in front of the Shumidan and is used for "3 Gusoku" (candle stand, flower vase, and incense burner).
