  • Hardcover with dust jacket; 210 pages; Size Approx. 5 3/4 X 8 3/4.
  • Published by Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd.; copyright 1963, First Edition.

Details: "This essentially practical book is for users and would-be buyers of sheet metal working machinery.  It will also be useful to the younger men in the sheet metal industry seeking a wider knowledge of available machinery--especially those in technical and training colleges, apprentice schools, etc.  It seeks to answer the day-to-day questions which arise in the fabrication of sheet metal, and to indicate many of the pitfalls, limitations and possibilities in the use of machines.  Some lines of possible future development of sheet metal working machinery are indicated to meet the growing urgent demand that sheet metal working must be carried out more quickly and cheaply.  The book also provides a survey of the present rather imperfect machinery range with indication of the real value of some of the specifications which are often quoted."  (from the dust jacket flap)
The book has a red hard cover binding with silver design and lettering on the front cover and spine; illustrated in black and white.
A fine addition for your bookshelf!

Condition:  The book has a little foxing on the upper edge of the text block; otherwise it is in very good condition with a firm binding and clean pages.  The dust jacket is showing some edge wear with a few short edge tears and small chips; the back cover is lightly soiled; otherwise it is in good condition.

About Us:

Rivendell Antiquarian Books sells used rare, vintage and collectable books predominantly from pre 1970. We have been sellers of antiquarian books for over 20 years, and our experience helps ensure quality descriptions of our rare and collectable books. Be assured that we want your experience with Rivendell Antiquarian Books to be enjoyable and problem free.

We believe that it is a travesty to simply throw away a used book when there is little or nothing wrong with it - we believe in giving each book the chance of finding a new home. We appreciate the impact a good book can have. We know the excitement of a new page turner, or the familiar joy of an old favorite, and we find satisfaction in putting older, and often scarce books in the hands of people who have the same love for old books that we do.

Customer Service:

Rivendell Antiquarian Books is committed to ensuring each customer is entirely satisfied with their puchase and our service. If you have any issues or concerns please contact us and we will be more than happy to help.

Our books have been inspected carefully by hand by experienced book valuers to ensure the condition description is as accurate as possible for this exact copy pictured. If you have questions about the book before or after purchasing, please feel free to contact us!

Packaging:

We take pride in packaging our books for safe delivery, and if you check our feedback, you will see this reflected in the comments of many pleased customers. For nearly all of our books, we use a specially designed boxing system from IPS (Inovative Packaging Solutions) located in York, PA. These media shipping boxes are designed to conform to the size of the book, securing it and preventing it from bumping around during shipping. The end result is a box which provides a double thickness of cardboard covering the front and back of the book; actually almost like a box within a box. The outer layer of cardboard extends beyond the ends of the inner "box" which very efficiently protects the corners of the book from being bumped and damaged by the sometimes rough handling packages receive in transit. In addition we place the book in a plastic bag to help guard against moisture if a package is left out in the elements.

Delivery:

We aim to get all books shipped within 24 hours of order except on weekends. We can't control the delivery time once a book leaves our hands, but most of the time USPS is prompt in delivery, and the expected delivery time given by eBay is usually fairly accurate. Because we use media mail to keep costs down, it does take a little longer for delivery, and occasionally packages get delayed in the mail system. If for some reason your order has not arrived within the expected time frame, please get in contact with us so that we can try to help you.
