This beautiful portrait of a young girl & her mother from the 1920s or later was hand colored / tinted to give the babies skin and lips some color. The portrait is boarded by real butterfly wings most likely done in Brazil as was the specialty of that region at the time. The wings have mildly started to flake some of which is sitting in the middle of the portrait see photos. We didn’t dare try to open the back to clean it as it might make it worse. The wood frame has beautiful mixed wood inlay. It’s all solidly nailed together.
