This is an Antique 1880 Wanamaker & Brown's Oak Hall Louisville Ky Match Safe Advertising.


April, 1861, the same month in which Southerners fired on Fort Sumter, Wanamaker & Brown's Oak Hall clothing house opened.


Oak Hall, a large clothing house established by John Wanamaker with his brother-in-law Nathan Brown. This was Wanamaker's first store, which he opened in 1861. The building was located at the corner of Sixth and Market streets in Louisville Ky.


Very rare advertisement piece.


Measures 3” tall and 1.5” wide.


It is worn from years of use.
