A superb Victorian English antique solid sterling silver basting spoon. It is hallmarked for London 1896 with the maker being Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman). It has been well made to what is termed Old English pattern and has been engraved with a wolf crest used by the WARd Family as well as the Flood and Wilbraham families. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 12 inches (30.5cm) long by 2.25 inches (5.6cm) wide and weighs a heavy 152 grams. A very well made example.
