Up for sale is: A Sideshow Collectibles GI Joe 1/6 scale 12-inch action figure of a COBRA: The Enemy Desert Ops Sniper. The Desert Ops Cobra Sniper is nearly identical to Sideshow's 2010 Cobra Sniper except that the figure's uniform, weapons, and accessories are in a weathered Desert Tan color, it comes with additional Desert Goggles, and its 3-piece figure stand is both a crotch support-type (as opposed to the original's waist gripping one) and has a Desert Sand Overlay for the Base. The figure along with some of its weapons and accessories were displayed inside their art box for several months in an adult collector's smoke-free and pet-free home after they were received direct from Sideshow Collectibles in 2011, but were soon put away and stored with care in an air-conditioned room until March 2024, when the pics shown in this listing were taken.

The figure is 12 inches (30 cm) tall with over 30 points of articulation and includes a detailed fabric Desert Ops Uniform (Pants, Shirt, and Helmet) with Cobra insignia and officer rank bars, a Black Fabric Facemask, Tactical Boots (single-piece sculpt), a Smersh harness with Buttpack, two Canteens, Knee Pads, a Belt, three sets of Interchangeable Gloved Hands (Clenched Fists, Gripping, and Trigger Finger), and Desert Goggles.

The Desert Ops Cobra Sniper is armed with a SVDS Dragunov Para Sniper Rifle (in a Desert Camouflage scheme) with a Folding Buttstock, five 10-round Magazines, and a Bayonet with Sheath and Strap. For a sidearm, the figure is armed with a G17 Pistol complete with a Holster and a single 17-round Magazine.

* There are a couple issues with the Dragunov Rifle. (See pics 8 through 12.) The first is that the hinge of the rifle's Folding Buttstock is loose / broken (it appears as though the plastic pin it hinges on broke at some point). The Buttstock will stay firmly in place in the default extended or folded in positions (especially the former) but attempting to swivel it back in forth will cause it to rapidly come loose and fall out (easy to place back in position). Another minor issue is that the long barrel easily slides off the two plastic pins which connect it to the main body of the Dragunov. It could easily be glued into place if desired, but that isn't really necessary as it stays in place fine for display purposes. As long as you intend to use the Rifle as a display piece rather than a working toy, it is just fine as is. *

Finally, the Desert Ops Cobra Sniper includes a 3 piece Figure Display Base / Stand (crotch support) with Cobra Logo and an additional Desert Sands Base Overlay.

The figure's weapons and accessories have been placed back in their plastic trays, while the figure itself (wearing all webgear, pouches, etc.), its Helmet, and the Display Stand parts are in the other compartment.

The figure, accessories, and boxes pictured in the listing are the same exact ones which you will receive. The plastic clam shell insert / lid which holds the weapons and accessories is included, but the one in the half of the box which holds the figure itself has been discarded. The original brown Sideshow fitted shipping box was also discarded at some point, but the art box is in excellent condition and will be carefully wrapped and placed in a plain shipping box.
