A large and impressive oil on canvas evocation of William Bouguereau's late 19th century original, 'The Invasion'.

Skillfully painted in a bold palette with exquisite detailing of the figure, the winged cherubs and the surrounding foliage. 

The image dimensions are approximately: 35 3/4'' x 24''   (91cm x 61cm). 

In good condition, apparently unsigned, housed in a modern moulded gilt frame, ready to hang. 

Provenance:

European, perhaps French in origin, formerly with a lady's collection in Somerset, England.
