Vtg Weller Pottery Bonito Floral Double Handled Vase Planter signed by (marked) Hester Pillsbury Circa: 1927 - 1933

Beautiful doubled handled vase with No chips, cracks, stains, repairs or flea bites.

Bonito pottery pieces were created by a special process used only on one other line, the Hudson-Perfecto line. First a free hand drawing of the design was done with India ink and colored with mineral stain.

During the firing, the ink burned out and the stain was completely absorbed into the body.       

Vase features hand painted pink & blue flowers on a cream-colored background with a green interior.  The piece is finished with a matte crazing and feels smooth to the touch. The piece is signed by artist Hester Pillsbury, and has "Weller Pottery" inscribed on the bottom, hard to see.
