Made by Wächtersbach Keramik and WMF this rare Butter Dish was part of a large range of kitchen and table ware, manufactured in Germany during 1909-1930s.

This pattern (number Dek. 2194 12) is a beautiful two-tone purple pansies with yellow centres and green leaves. This pattern is around the top edge.

The lid and dish base is brass nickel-plated, which shows light signs of use and aging.

The butter dish has a small imperfection inside - see photos - and a 1mm chink on the rim.

There is an impressed WMF mark on the bottom of the metal dish - the WMF is a running ostrich in a fully, horizontally-striped arch over the letters "WMF G".

The porcelain butter dish measures 6cm high x 11cm diameter. The metal dish measures 16.5cm diameter. The total height of the butter dish is c.8.5cm.

I also have a matching tea service, sardine dish, pastry box and sugar sifterfor sale in my shop.
