A beautiful, artistically conceived, designed, constructed and additionally finished World War II Trench Art Memorabilia creatively combined into one practical and usable item - desk clock!
The aircraft model is creatively carved (not cast) from a single piece of aluminum and only the rotating propeller and its axis (the aircraft "nose") are additionally added.
The clock is manufactured by the SESSIONS CLOCK COMPANY FORESTVILLE, CONNECTICUT USA.
The clock is not working, the spring box gear is missing a few teeth. It cannot be repaired here as there are no spare parts for old American watches.
At first glance the clock can also may be mistaken for a piece of trench art but I don't think it is. The finish is too crafted and the clock has been manufactured for sure to resemble a searchlight. Strange idea to make into a table clock!
But somebody definitely thought it was good that this strange and unusual form of table clock to be extended and used like a pedestal for a custom made aluminum trench art airplane model.
A very unique piece of trench art, I have never seen such a beautiful piece.
