A wonderful, fine and fresh to the market large oil on canvas depiction of an elegant lady and her son within a sumptuous interior.

The lady seated and wearing a black dress and holding a small volume.  The young boy is standing beside his mother and looking out at the viewer.

A beautifully detailed painting in which the figures are depicted in life-like poses, their faces and clothing superbly rendered.

Mid to late 19th century in good condition, with former owner's details verso.

The image dimensions are approximately: 31''  x  24 1/2''   (79cm x 62.5cm).

Housed in a good moulded gilt frame, the frame with minor imperfections
