Merrythought Teddy Bear " Humphrey "

He retains his original very good condition Merrythought Wishbone Celluloid Button in his ear and his MERRYTHOUGHT...HYGIENIC TOYS...MADE IN ENGLAND linen sewn on foot label
Humphrey is an elderly bear that has been well loved during his time and has a sparse blonde mohair plush. He is fully jointed, with some black stitched claws on his cotton foot pads and the 'clean' lines showing where the stitches were on his cotton hand pads
Humphrey has large amber and black glass eyes
He is 15¾" / 40 cm tall
He has an in-operative squeaker in his tummy and is stuffed with wood wool in his head and a softer 'kapok' in his body and limbs. He has a drooping head as his neck/body could benefit from more stuffing - I rather like his more mature stature which gives him plenty of character - hence I kept him as is. I've had Humphrey for about 20 years and I think the previous custodian maybe re-stuffed his body, apart from needing more stuffing he feels quite lightweight compared to my other bears
He comes from my own antique vintage doll / teddy bear collection and has been on display in a glass cabinet with lots of friends for many years, however I have reluctantly decided to start thinning out my beloved collection
Comes from a non-smoking / pet-free home
