This wonderful antique picture frame, circa early 1900's, has an outwardly curved profile with a raised ridge toward the outer border. It also comes with its original wooden slips in a lovely gold gilt finish (which you can remove if preferred, creating a larger space for your artwork). Simple but very elegant styling and typical of this period.

The frame is made from oak with rich and deep brown tones that really show off the lovely old wood grain.

It is in great condition with some signs of its considerable age and use such as marks and patina nothing excessive and all very much adding to the character and charm. The frame has also been lightly cleaned, oiled and waxed. Please see the photographs for more information and example on the condition.

A beautiful antique oak frame that is perfect for artists to mount their work or as a wonderful decorative item in its own right.

This is a large sized frame measuring approximately 54cm x 44cm with the aperture measuring approximately 42cm x 32cm with the insert fitted and approximately 44.5cm x 34.5cm.

FAQ’s

Is collection possible?

Collection is very welcome at your convenience. I am based in Ironbridge, Shropshire.

Can you send abroad?

Most of my items can be sent outside of the UK via eBay’s ‘Global Shipping Program’ (GSP). Listings will provide details, including shipping costs, when this service is available. In instances where this is not, I am more than happy to provide shipping quotes before you purchase.

Can you send it via a different courier to that advertised?

I regularly use ParcelForce and Royal Mail to send out my frames. They have proven very safe and reliable over many years of use. However, I appreciate some people would prefer an alternative courier and I am more than happy to facilitate wherever possible.

Can I come and browse your frames at a shop

Unfortunately I sell online only and do not have premises suitable to facilitate this. eBay rules also forbid sharing of contact details, prior to a sale. Collecting a purchased frame is fine.

Do you have more than one of the same frame?

Listings will reference identical, or similar frames, when they are in stock.

Does the frame come with glass and a backing board?

Most of frames do not come with glass, this is primarily due to its fragility and likelihood of damage in the post. Frames that come with glass and / or a backing board will be detailed and photographed in the item description.

Do you have a specific frame size?

All my frames are listed on eBay, so please feel free to see my ‘other items’ or eBay shop to see if there is anything to suit you needs. I am always sourcing and listing new frames, so it might be worth following me to see of anything suitable crops up.

Can you provide combined postage?

Yes, I can combine postage, wherever this is possible. There will be instances where this is not possible due to issues such as size and weight (couriers impose strict dimension restrictions), along with issues around fragility and risk of damage.
