I believe it's rayon gabardine. Dolman sleeves with underarm gussets. Striking black soutache trim, faceted black buttons and loops are in excellent condition. Working side zipper on skirt. No shoulder pads - you may want to add some as I did for the mannequin photo. The only flaw worth mentioning is a small hole - likely from pinning on a brooch, directly above the top button, as shown.

The bust measures 40 inches, while the waist size is 29 inches and the hip size is 39 inches, shoulder to waist 17". The waist to hem length is 31 inches. The suit has a movie star look that is sure to turn heads, and it was made in the United States during the late 40s to early 50s.
