The Order received the Honorary Title of the Gallipoli Star to commemorate the battle of Gallipoli in 1915 where British and Australian Troops landed on the Gallipoli Straits to conquer Constantinople and force the Ottoman Empire out of the war. They were repulsed by German and Ottoman troops suffering great losses. 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆.
