For sale here is a very well framed pair of Grand Tour plaster friezes, depicting scenes from the Parthenon (Elgin marbles). This piece most likely dates to the late nineteenth century and is based on the work of John Henning, who produced original plaster casts of the Parthenon friezes. The detail in this plaster work is really first class, making this a very fine example of its kind.

Condition: very good, with just some minor wear to the edges of one frieze and well presented in a more recent box frame.

Size: 36 x 28cms framed.
