Philatelic Series CD 42

Errors and Varieties of British Stamps
(Surface Printed)

Illustrated with enlarged diagrams. Issues 1855-1925.

W. Ward , 1925, 19 pages.

"While among the errors, is the rarest of British postage stamps, in many of the varieties herein described, some common, some of great rarity, the possibility of the philatelist finding them in any lot of stamps is by no means remote. Since this book was projected, several correspondents have been enabled to discover varieties through seeing the advance sheets of some of the illustrations, that they had not previously suspected existed. Thus I am assured among these pages the collector will receive a "tip" towards making a "find" that adds to the fascination of knowing stamps from a philatelic standpoint, rather than a mere accumulation of stamps for their intrinsic and market value."
