End of AI description!

I've owned this turntable from new, but its been stored for a long time because I switched to CDs and streaming.

It's a direct drive turntable from a good manufacturer of "proper" hi-fi. I'm an old-school hi-fi geek who's really looked after his equipment and vinyl. It's been stored in its original packaging whenever it hasn't been in use. By way of example of the condition, the clear acrylic lid is virtually as new. No scratches or crazing around the soft-close hinges. There is a tiny scratch near the speed control dial (see photos), but otherwise it really is in outstanding condition. The turntable should switch on when the arm is moved to the LP, and auto-return when it's finished. It has a speed refinement control with an illuminated strobe. I can't check that because the turntable doesn't drive at the moment

The baffling thing to me is why it doesn't work. When I decided to sell and took it out of its packaging, the motor pulsed a bit, but didn't run continuously (power supply issue?) and the damped arm mechanism seems to have siezed, although I didn't try to hard to free it up.

I'm including a QLM36 Mk3 cartridge. It ought to be working perfectly - I just packaged it up when I bought an Ortofon VMS 20 Mk 2 cartridge (Which I'm selling separately). I've re-attached it to the arm for safe keeping but it's not connected or aligned.

I've also included a dust-bug style record cleaner simply because the base for it is attached to the turntable plinth with a sticky pad I didn't want to try to take off.

The turntable is in all its original packaging and includes the original owner's manual.

Because I genuinely think there's not much wrong with this turntable I'm not prepared to risk any further damage to it or my reputation on eBay by placing it in the hands of a negligent courier, so it's collection only I'm afraid from postcode HG3.

Happy bidding for this great classic turntable.
