For sale I have a 1 string Baritone Cigar Box style Canjo Diddley Bow guitar, made using a tin, several lengths of wood and several guitars parts.

The overall length of the guitar is 33.5 inches and has a maximum scale length of 28 inches. at this scale this guitar comes under the variant called a Baritone which is long scale instrument usually with heavier strings and lower tunings. you do not need to have it at this scale length though, it can be shortened be moving the bolt that serves as the bridge to a more standard scale of 25.5 inches. the body of the guitar is a small silver tin of unknown origins, I am not sure what was in it before I had. the tin measures, 7.5 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep and despite the size has a nice volume and tone, even when unplugged and acoustic. the tin is equipped with a single 25mm piezo disc pickup which is glued into place under the lid of the tin and is wired into a standard guitar jack, which is also mounted on the lid of the tin.

the neck is made of an unknown lightweight wood which has a similar grain and colour to mahogany, it is light and strong though, quite ideal for a neck. the neck is spliced, glued and screwed with a few lengths of Pine which serve as the headstock of the guitar and as the main length secured to the tin. the neck is screwed and secured into place at the tin with a single screw through the back and using the hinge which serves as the tailpiece of the bridge. the headstock is angled and fitted with a single standard machine head and has a single gold flat head screw which I have filed to length and serves as the nut of the guitar.

CHOOSE YOUR STRING. I have tested the play-ability of this guitar using a 50 gauge bass string, but as pictured this guitar currently as no string and I leave it up to you as to what string you wish to have. I have a wide variety of Ernie Ball Strings available with most gauges between 8 and 48 available at this time. as this is a baritone, a heavier gauge might be most suitable, but thats personal taste. I would suggest though, that light gauges like 8 to 12 might be too light for the longer scale length. I do have available a 62 gauge which I think will be ideal for this build.

due to the size of this guitar, I will be shipping it via Parcelforce 48 in order to ensure a fast and safe delivery.
