From the collection of late actor and comedian Howard Hesseman:

A very old baby doll, probably owned by Howard’s Mother. Condition is as pictured.

*A Bill Of Sale is included with each purchase and on that the item’s provenance is documented.

I think we’re getting close to the end of the liquidation of Mr. Hesseman’s estate. There’s still more work to be done, more things to sell, but I think an end is in sight. I’d like to thank all my wonderful customers over the past two years. You all (or at least 99.9% of you) have been so nice, so easy to work with, and it’s good to know the thing Howard collected and carried around with him over the years have been passed on to good people. And of course, if you’ve been watching these auctions you know how fascinating of a life Howard had. He was most everywhere that was cool in the 1960s and 70s, San Francisco during the Summer of Love, Swinging London…. And a Beatles recording session for the White Album. More on that later.

Lastly, we should all (especially me) give a big heartfelt THANK YOU to Howard’s Wife, Caroline, for allowing these fine items to be sold. Xoxo Caroline!!

Excerpts from Mr. Hesseman’s Wikipedia bio:

“Howard Hesseman (February 27, 1940 – January 29, 2022) was an American actor known for his television roles as burned-out disc jockey Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati, and the lead role of history teacher Charlie Moore on Head of the Class. He appeared regularly on television and in film from the 1970s to 2010s, with other noteworthy roles including Sam Royer (the husband of lead character Ann Romano) in the last two seasons of One Day at a Time, and a supporting role as Captain Pete Lassard in the film Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment.”

“Hesseman is best known for his role as anti-disco disc jockey Dr. Johnny Fever on the television sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati from 1978 to 1982, a role Hesseman prepared for by working as a DJ in San Francisco at KMPX-FM for several months. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1980 and 1981 for his portrayal of Fever.”
