1931 Press Photo Betty Russell models a hat inspired by the Empress Eugenie

This is an original press photo. New York -- No wonder there is so much talk about the new Empress Eugenie mode of millinery which came in with such a rush only a few weeks ago. At the left is the charming Empress Eugenie herself, the little redheaded madcap on whom the third Napoleon looked and forthwith raised her to the throne of France. Her charming sense of dress won her great fame and her hats, particularly, were copied in all fashionable circles. At the right is shown the modern version of the millinery mode established by the Empress Eugenie. Betty Russell wears this little turban turned off the face in just the right manner and with the dash that charmed the men of the third Napoleonic Era.Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated 08-27-1931.
