On the title page, nicely inscribed and signed by the author to the prior owner, Murdo J. MacLeod (b. 1935), a Scottish historian of Latin America, who published extensively on the history of colonial-era Central America, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic world. 

Describes the Granada expedition of Alonso Luis Fernández de Lugo (1506-1556), a Castilian nobleman and conquistador, and knight of the order of Santiago. De Lugo became governor and captain general of the New Kingdom of Granada.
