Description:

Fantastic straight-through Galilean type binoculars with a hinged bridge circa 1920s. Not much magnification, maybe two or three, but I don't think there's another pair that are in such terrific shape! There are no markings to indicate that these were issued for military use.

Condition:

Pre-owned, antique. Well cared for! Incredible condition considering these are over 100 years old. The Galileans are in fantastic shape, everything works as it should. The turn screw raises the eyepieces somewhat unevenly as they go up, but not a biggie. The left eye piece has a ding - if you look closely it's a teensy bit smashed down but doesn't affect anything. The false prism chamber on the left hand side turns a bit (see photos.) There are two, maybe three, small scratches in the leather, but nothing tearing or pulling away. The lenses are very clear, but there is dust on the inside. Also in some places around the joints you can see a smooth material that's pulling away. I originally thought it was lacquer, but it does look silverish. I've photographed everything I have mentioned above.

The case however is a different story. Please look at the photos carefully because it is a mess. I also don't believe the top of the case is leather based on the pattern in the fabric.

I have an almost freakish attention for details so I note everything I see & describe each item with truthful intent.
