ABOUT THIS BOX

Crafted in Switzerland by Reuge, this box features classic mid century looks. The caramel-finished wood is beautiful and has a lovely cross grain shimmer. The beauty and sophistication are complemented by a Rossini tune.

Lift the lid to reveal a highly-desired, world-class Reuge 3/72 movement The movement is clean and shiny and it looks great. The mechanism winds up smoothly and the sound quality is EXCELLENT thanks to the well-constructed box. It switches between the songs effortlessly. The music starts and stops (at song end) via the front slider button. The original Reuge tune label is found on the inside.

This music box plays “Thieving Magpie” (3 parts) by Rossini. The tune is timeless and prized by music box collectors.

CONDITION 

The box is in very good condition. It is structurally perfect. The box has a very few small dings/defects, which are well-hidden in the wood grain. I have included close up pics. Please see the pictures for the issues and for the beauty of this piece.

The musical movement was inspected and properly lubricated for years of use. The sound is very rich and beautiful — A+ quality. There are NO resonance issues (buzzes/chirps) that can occur in vintage boxes. Please see the video to hear this spectacular box!
