The Minolta Hi-Matic GF was released in 1984 and aimed at beginners. Handling is entirely manual but simplified to a few basic functions. Parameters are divided into three groups marked by pictograms: Sunny, Partly Cloudy, and Cloudy, while focusing is divided into four zones, from portraits to landscapes. Due to its simplicity, this model can be used by people without prior experience in analog photography. The camera is equipped with a flash, which is always recommended in low-light conditions. Its dimensions are quite small, and the design is reminiscent of classic compacts from the 1970s. It weighs around 200 grams, making it inconspicuous for everyday carrying. It's powered by two ordinary AA batteries. The 38mm lens covers a slightly wide angle and performs well in most situations.
