General Sir Robert Wilson's (1777 – 1849) brass monument, situated in Westminster Abbey since 1849, depicts him in the armor of a 15th-century Lancastrian knight, a striking departure from the typical attire of his era. Renowned for his military prowess, Sir Robert served under Wellington during the Napoleonic campaigns, amassing numerous prestigious titles including Knight Grand Cross of the Red Eagle of Prussia and Commander of the Imperial Military Order of Maria Theresa of Austria. The brass artwork immortalizes his remarkable military career, capturing his commanding presence with meticulous detail, including a lion at his feet.
