Charvel celebrates the legacy of the incomparable guitarist Prashant Aswani by creating his signature model, the Prashant Aswani Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal PA28.
The "PA" in "PA28" is named after his initials, and the "28" is named after his birthday and wedding anniversary.
PA28 is designed to deliver next level performance.
With its ideal tone range and rich sound make-up, it can be used in a surprisingly wide range of ways, from exciting riffs to classic melodies.
The alder body features a scalloped finish for a balanced, full tone.
The contoured body and cut heel make it smooth and comfortable for fast play on the upper frets.
The graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck is also extremely sturdy, with a 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard with comfortable rolled edges, 22 jumbo frets, a 42mm Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, and a heel-mounted truss. Featuring a rod adjustment wheel and side dots that allow you to see fret position in the dark, any touring musician will appreciate the Luminlay's side dots.
A big fan of vintage PAF pickups, Aswani worked with the Charvel product team to design the all-new Charvel PA28 humbucker pickup.
Equipped with alnico 3 magnets for evenly balanced tone, dynamic pickups and touch-sensitive pickups provide balanced and clear sound whether clean or distorted.
The glass-like glittering clean with a hidden woody tone is perfect for playing single notes in R&B funk, while also complementing delays and reverb when playing beautiful chords.
With gain, these pickups deliver exhilarating driving tones with rich overtones and harmonics.
The clear yet smooth tone provides both the dynamics and precision that high-gain and vintage players need for both rhythm and lead play.
Flexible sound control prevents volume fluctuations and unexpected tone shifts with a 5-way blade pickup switch and skirted Strat-style volume and tone knobs, as well as a Dunlop superpot.
Additionally, it features a Wilkinson WVS1302P 2-point bridge with Aswani locking saddles and pop-in tremolo arm for smooth, dynamic and soulful tremolo action and superior tuning stability.
Featuring a matching head in an alluring Inca Silver nitro lacquer finish, the Prashant Aswani Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal PA28 also features a parchment pickguard, "PA28" stamped on the back of the headstock, chrome hardware, and Charvel branding. It features a locking tuner.
