The Detail on this pin is very nice. First introduced in 1920, this pin was generally for anyone who wish to be part of Girl Scouting, but for some reason, could not be an active member. At first, a committee member had to pass the Tenderfoot Test, but this requirement was later dropped. The earlier pins from 1920 to 1926 did not have the GS on the pin. The GS on the pin was visible in the 1927 and 1928 Girl Scout catalogs. The design of the pin was a TREFOIL emblem enclosed in an uneven circle. This pin is in great shape and has a heavier “J” Hook type of closure. It has an “R” trademark on the back that is very visible and not worn off. I could not find what kind of metal was used but because of the weight and shine, it might be brass. Please see the pictures for Condition and Measurements-it is measured with a nickel.
