Roman Imperial silver denarius of Domitian, 81-96 A.D., R.S.C. 208, R.I.C. 88, 19-20 mm, 3.5 gm. The obverse shows the laureate head of Domitian to the right, with the legend " IMP. CAES. DOMIT. AVG. GERM. P. M. TR. P. VI". The reverse shows MINERVA, standing right, brandishing a javelin in the right hand, holding a raised shield in the left. The reverse side legend shows "IMP. XIIII COS. XII CENS. P. P. P. ". Both sides are nice shades of aged, lightly toned silver and grays, with darker toning around the edges of some of the features and lettering.
