STK 3438 1960 Morris Minor Panel Truck
This 1960 Morris Minor 6cwt Panel Van is not a common sight around town. These vans were built by Morris Motors Limited in England (and possibly New Zealand) and were for commercial/postal use. The panel van was based on the Morris Minor 1000 Saloon sedan, but was built on a separate chassis unlike the uni-body construction of the Saloon. It had a fiberglass rear shell that provided van storage. However, none of the panel vans left the Morris factory quite like this one - this left-hand drive van has been seriously modified for performance. A full re-spray of Artic White is in excellent condition and 15" alloy wheels provide nice accents. The custom interior is fitted with comfortable front bucket seats reupholstered in tan leather, a refinished dash housing a set of VDO gauges, tilt-wheel and custom floor shift. The headliner is excellent, handsome carpeting has been installed and the cargo area has also been upholstered in matching leather - this interior is top-shelf. The engine compartment houses a built Chevy 350ci that is fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor and tube headers that exit to a free flowing exhaust. Electrics have been converted to 12-volt and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan controls cooling. This mighty small-block is backed by a GM 2-speed Powerglide transmission that provides power to a narrowed 9" Ford equipped with 4.11:1 gearing. The chassis has been carefully reinforced to handle the additional horsepower and is equipped with manual steering, manual disc/drum brakes and a competition fuel cell w/electric fuel pump. This is a very, very unique package – rest assured, no one else in the neighborhood will have one of these. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
