Little Nena was a force to be reckoned with...she was the family matriarch and really determined just about every outcome in the life of my great nana Olive...it is said she was driven by worry...all her love and her warts came from worry...which transcended into love. I had heard this story by the women of my family growing up...my heirloom memory ripe for receiving familial information...an old soul brewing to be ME. I realized it wasn't only the women who suffered the lineage of worry...sometimes as functional and dysfunctional as it was...it was a mode of survival...it is something that affects your health and could certainly put you in a early grave. I try in my adult life to live with the dangerous worrisome thoughts that wear on the heart...while trying to coexist in a life and place that is nurturing...and trying to not fall into the familiar traps of my beloveds. Little Nena is me...I have that force...I have that worry...she was 4'8 inches tall...and was the size of the statue of liberty in her mind.
