Vehicle Details

Up for auction 1965 Ford Thunderbird: This car was one family owned for 50 years in Riverside, CA. This is a true California car. After the death of the original owner, the T-bird was shipped to Lexington, KY to the son of the original owner. At this point, the son wanted the car fully restored to honor his father who was a retired U.S. Air Force Major. The restoration began with the complete disassembly of the T-bird including motor and transmission, all of the interior, the complete front end, fenders, hood, doors and trunk lid, including all glass etc. After the car was painted, there was a complete engine and transmission rebuild and the process of reassembling the T-bird began. After the engine was installed, there was a new carb, new water pump, new fuel pump, new alternator, new air conditioning compressor, new starter, all new hoses and clamps, new master cylinder, all new shocks, breaks and mufflers, new distributor cap and wires and the current 17” wheels and tires installed (also included are the full set of original hubcaps). There was $2,100 worth of chrome plating done to the front and rear bumpers and other misc. items. This car has got new under hood felt and all new rubber seals including front and back glass, engine compartment, door seals, and trunk compartment. This car has 390 4-V automatic transmission, air conditioning, power windows, power driver’s seat, and fully reclining passenger’s seat along with power steering, power disc brakes and swing away steering wheel. This T-bird has an extensive 50-year paper trail including the original window sticker, the original dealer sales invoice, 50 years of repairs and replacement parts both done by Ford and private repair shops. This car has the original 1965 black California license plates and I have the registrations for these plates. This car has only had these California license plates ever bolted on the car. How many cars from the 60’s have their original registered plates for that car! Very rare. It also has the original Ford white-walled, red-lined spare tire in the trunk. This T-bird also has complete pictures and DVD of the disassembly and the restoration of this car and all of the documentation. There has been 2000 miles on the vehicle since restoration in 2015. Also, in the past 2 years the following things have been done: new Motorcraft battery, NOS ignition switch, the transmission pulled and all seals and gaskets replaced, new water pump, new dash gauge voltage regulator (this allows the gauges to operate on 6v). You're welcome to view this vehicle in person in Columbus, Ohio. I have a clean Ohio title in hand. Payment of $1000.00 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of auction to be made by buyer via Paypal. The winning bidder will be notified of Paypal information for deposit.
