L'Edelmann est une machine à écrire à index (sans clavier), elle possède un support où sont dessinés les différents caractères et une tige que l'on tourne d'un côté ou de l'autre pour choisir celui désiré. Lorsque nous déplaçons la tige, la roue avec le type (tout comme les modèles Blick) se positionne au centre pour imprimer sur le papier. En appuyant sur la tige vers le bas, le caractère est imprimé sur le papier. Il n'a pas de bobine d'encre, mais plutôt un tampon qui encre les caractères à chaque écriture. Il a trois touches, deux pour choisir l'une des trois lignes de polices différentes sur la roue des polices et une pour l'espace. C'est une machine très rare et très difficile à trouver dans cet état de conservation. Son état est excellent et il fonctionne parfaitement. The Edelmann is an index typewriter (without keyboard), it has a support where the different characters are drawn and a stem that you turn to one side or the other to choose the desired one.
