The North American Indian, The Vanishing Race, published in 20 Volumes, represents the life work of Edward Sheriff Curtis. The 40 year project, financed by JP Morgan and sponsored by President Theodore Roosevelt, required Curtis to trek through the American West with wagons and cameras to document “The Vanishing Race” of Native American Tribes.
