AMPHITRITE GODDESS OF SEAS NOVELTY SILVER SALT + SPOON 1902. EDWARDIAN

A  really unusual novelty silver salt depicting Amphitrite, the goddess of the seas and wife to Poseidon, perched on top of a seashell shaped salt that is supported by a fish. It is solid silver and is stamped '800' to the base. It is in very good condition with just a bit of age related wear. It has a slight wobble, but it stands absolutely fine and is still very useable. It does not have any holes and has not been overly polished. It is accompanied by quite a fancy miniature Edwardian silver seashell salt spoon, which is fully hallmarked for 1902, has the lion passant for sterling silver, and the maker's mark for William Aitken, also in very good condition. A really unusual piece of novelty silver, I have never seen another one like it. It stands 15cms tall and weighs just under 76.5g. It will be very carefully packaged and sent via The Royal Mail's Special Delivery service.

I have quite a few novelty pieces of silver for sale, including some stag menu holders, some fox menu holders, and a duck napkin ring - please see my other items.
