It includes all 40 rolls or spools of thread shown. The ones in the package plastic are new, while the open ones appear to be barely used if at all. Considering each spool has nearly 6000 yards of thread, this comes out to 240,000 yards of thread. A great buy for someone that loves to sew and/or make things.

Please note: A couple of the spools are larger than 6000 yards by a ton so that makes up for the possible smaller amounts on the opened spools. Also a couple of the spools are by different makers. The vast majority as you can see in the pictures are American & Efird.
