Up for sale is the vintage 2000 Aeropiccola 1/170 Scale 1765 HMS Victory Wood Ship Model Kit Art. 531/SM-L. Item is an open box but in unused condition with small parts in factory sealed box. All wood parts are in excellent condition. The inner plastic bag has been opened. I carefully repackaged box for shipping. Box has wear from storage and age.Please, look closely at photos for details and condition of item.
A Brief History:
HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line in the Royal Navy. Its storied history spans centuries, making it one of the most famous warships in the world. Ordered in 1758, HMS Victory was laid down in 1759 and launched in 1765 at Chatham Dockyard. Designed by Sir Thomas Slade, she was based on the outline plans of HMS Royal George. Her first main role was during the American Revolution under Admiral Keppel. The Victory went on to serve in many other wars such as the French Revolutionary War, the Napoleonic Wars, and the Battle of Trafalgar. Since 1922, HMS Victory has been preserved as a museum ship at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. As of 2024, HMS Victory continues to serve as the flagship of the First Sea Lord. With 246 years of service, she holds the distinction of being the world’s oldest naval vessel still in commission.
