Why were fire buckets round on the bottom? The rounded bottom results in a strong, directed stream of water when the water is thrown at the fire. The rounded-bottom bucket is far more efficient in launching the water at the fire than a flat bottom bucket. Who knew?

A rare find and a wonderful start to a spectacular display! These 3 buckets measure about 12” tall with the handle down, and a top rim diameter of about 10-1/2”. They have acquired plenty of “character” over the years including surface rust, dents, mystery paint and some calcification. Definitely rustic, perhaps even primitive, but also sturdy. 2 of the 3 have at least one seam leak. Make sure to have a close look at the photos to appreciate.
