Hi and thanks for taking the time to look at my meg tooth listing.   I started collecting in the 1990s, when I stumbled on my first meg tooth in a fossil shop in Lyme Regis.  I can still remember the excitement of holding a massive 2,000,000 year old serrated tooth in the palm of my hand.  Before that, I never dreamed I would be able to own a fossil tooth from the biggest predator of all time.   I believe collectors want megs that set themselves apart from the ordinary because of their size and colour.  Each tooth is unique and I am always happy to answer your questions and provide additional information.    fossilc0llector

This genuine 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 year old megalodon shark tooth was found on Java, Indonesia

It measures 14.27cm on longest diagonal length.   If this tooth was just 1cm longer it would be over 6 inches and cost almost twice the price!

The colourful enamel and contrasting bourlette are a feast for the eyes.  The colour of this specimen makes it a very special and unique meg tooth.  This colour is due to iron compounds (such as ferric oxide [Fe2O3] or tannic acid) in the sediment

This is a Massive Top Quality Upper jaw position Megalodon tooth.   The outstanding enamel colour, super sharp serrations, contrasting bourlette and undamaged tip, could not be much nicer.  All this is amazing because it is 5,000,000 to 10,000, 000 years old!! 

The blade has some restoration to enamel flaking that is the approximate size of a thumbnail.  There is also some restoration to the root, which has been stabilised unlike many crumbling meg roots from this location.  Great display tooth that will not degrade and crumble while being handled or on display.
