For sale, a refurbished, large solid oak 75cm wide whisky barrel/cold plunge barrel.

Item has been refurbished by myself with a view to use as a cold water therapy plunge barrel to ease aches and pains.

Selling due to me being too big to fit in the barrel itself. I’m 6ft 5” and 25 stone. Only figured barrel was too small once I completed the refurbishment and got in the actual barrel.

Item has been jet washed and antibacterial agent added to clean.

Barrel has been orbital sanded to smooth interior and exterior.

External steel bands have been buffed to remove surface rust.

Barrel has been stained (twice) internally and externally with Ronseal 10 year wood stain in natural oak and then coated with Ronseal crystal clear exterior varnish.

Brass tap fitted to barrel and fixed in position with 1/2” bsp brass fittings to ease draining to clean.

Barrel lid is made from 25mm pressure treated decking boards. Two laminations of decking boards with layers fitted perpendicular to each other and glued and screwed together with stainless steel wood screws. Handles fitted for ease of use.

The seat/step is made from pressure teated timber. Seat would need glued or screwed (be careful of screw length) in position before filling with water if you wish to utilise.

If I say so myself, I’m chuffed with the job I’ve done on this barrel, it’s just such a pity it’s too small for me.
