A vintage extending table or desk lamp, black base, two metal rods with black plastic connector and nut, shade with matt black rear and brushed aluminium front. The off-white cable has an inline switch.
The base would probably have had a plastic plate on the underside.
The style would suggest Italian in origin, 1970s. 
Size (approx.)
Height to top of central rod 16½" / 42cm;
Base diameter 6" / 15cm;
Shade length 7½" / 19cm and rim diameter 4¼" / 10.7cm. 
Condition 
Shade: general light wear including a small ding to the black part and a short, gentle crease to the silver part.
Rods: general light wear, would benefit from a clean and polish.
Base: some wear to the paint, particular around the bottom edge.
Untested. The white cable has a taped repair near the plug. As with all used electrical items, it is recommended that the lamp is tested by an electrician before use.
