A truly magnificent, fresh, estate find & early 20th century American antique artifact. This early 20th century Hubley antique hand painted cast iron standing cat or better described as a kitten & not just any kitten but a particularly adorable one, features a somewhat startled looking cat, standing upright but even slightly recoiling backwards. The kitten wears a yellow ribbon tied around its neck & stands perched upon a yellow painted pillow, which is also the cast iron figure's base, upon which a wooden door would come to rest & not move the doorstop, due to its weight & the downward thrust of the heavy ballast of its base. The paint is first generation & hasn't been altered, touched-up, repainted or adulterated in any shape or form. There's some minor paint loss, largely with the yellow enamel paint. Very nice. 100% untouched.]
