This is a vintage Mexican earthenware red pottery heart-shaped trinket jewelry box with a lid. I believe it to be Tonala- it is in the style of for sure and is marked faintly Mexico on the bottom. It was handmade in the 1980s and measures 3.5x4 inches. It is a bit rustic with some wear- possibly intentional or from age but suits the design I believe. No chips or cracks. The box is decorated with beautiful traditional Mexican designs and colors and is perfect for storing small items. Great for gift- put jewelry in for Mother’s Day!
